Supply List and Palette Map
Palette
Sta-Wet Pro-palette is what I’m currently using, and I love it! If you use a John Pike or Robert E. Wood palette that’s fine. If you don’t have this particular pallet just make sure you have a good size area to make puddles of color.
Paper
We will be using Arches 140 lb. cold press paper – 1/4 sheet (11 1/4 x 15 inches). I stretch my paper using 1/2” Gator board. I prefer not use the Block paper, but if that is all you have it will work– take the paper off the block because we will be wetting both sides. The Gator board should be 1/2” larger than your paper – mine is 12"x 16" or 16" x 23".
Brushes
We will be using:
- 1″ flat Robert Simmons (Simply Simmons)
- #6 & #10 round brushes, preferably sable or blend
- 1-1/2" or 2” synthetic flat,
- A small (1/4”) scrubber.
I prefer the synthetic flats and sable rounds. My rounds are #4, #6, #10 and either a #12 or #14 – buy the best you can afford! My preferred brand for sable rounds is Escoda Reserva Kolinsky-Tajmyr Sable. Because of the issues with Russian sable, I am not advising the purchase of Kolinsky sable brushes. I like the Escoda Perla round brushes (Amazon)
